Assistant Manager, Risk & Compliance

This role is to assist with managing and implementing compliance activities in the Isle of Man for the licensed entities while working alongside the Head of Compliance. The position operates within a hybrid workplace structure, allowing for flexibility in working arrangements. The successful candidate will be required to produce management information in a timely manner and undertake evaluations of internet research and screening outputs. Furthermore, responsibilities include compliance monitoring for the licensed entities in the Isle of Man, with a focus on the Employer Solutions entity. The Assistant Manager will also provide ongoing mentoring and support to less experienced team members and collaborate with senior management across different offices serviced by the Centralised Risk Functions Team. They will be tasked with providing solutions, ensuring that management is kept informed of progress, and assisting with oversight and management projects while maintaining strong interdepartmental relationships. Other duties may be assigned as necessary by management, and adherence to compliance policies and continuing professional development requirements is expected.

Job Duties:

  • Produce management information in a timely manner.
  • Undertake evaluation of internet research and World-check 1 / Media check screening output.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring for Isle of Man licensed entities and focus on the Employer Solutions entity.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring and support to less experienced team members.
  • Collaborate with senior management from serviced offices.
  • Provide solutions for consideration and implement those solutions while keeping management informed.
  • Act as a point of contact for queries within the Centralised Risk Functions Team and escalate issues to the line manager as needed.
  • Assist management in building and maintaining strong relationships with department heads and senior management.
  • Support management with project oversight, training, reporting, and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Achieve utilisation targets.
  • Undertake any other duties as deemed necessary by management.
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to core values and expected behaviours.
  • Meet continuous professional development requirements in accordance with qualification levels and in-house procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant AML/Compliance professional qualification (ICA Diploma) or actively studying towards it.
  • Relevant risk and compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional AML/CFT legislation and regulatory requirements is desirable.
  • Broad understanding of risk factors.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in an organised manner with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player, effectively working collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in delegating, coaching, and developing others.
  • Working knowledge of Viewpoint is desirable.
