Our client is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Business Development Manager to join their team. This full-time role is based in the Isle of Man and focuses on driving business growth by securing new opportunities and fostering long-term relationships with clients. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the business development team, meeting and ideally exceeding performance targets. You will leverage your understanding of the commercial banking sector and a solid grasp of anti-money laundering (AML) practices to establish strategic partnerships and manage key relationships. JOB DUTIES:
- Build strong and resilient relationships with Corporate Service Providers (CSPs), Third Party Service Providers (TSPs), introducers, and direct clients.
- Establish and manage strategic, high-value relationships ensuring long-term engagement.
- Develop strategic partnerships within the digital and gaming sectors, facilitating referral agreements and collaborative problem-solving.
- Maintain knowledge of key players in digital sub-sectors to drive new business opportunities.
- Meet or surpass new business targets set at the beginning of the year and fulfil objectives agreed with the Line Manager.
- Collaborate with your Line Manager to determine and own your distribution strategy.
- Document applicant opportunities with background assessments and risk evaluations.
- Draw upon industry knowledge to identify upcoming regulatory changes and present new business opportunities.
- Demonstrate professional judgement regarding risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Implement and foster a relationship-led approach to key clients and referrers.
- Build a profile as the go-to contact for corporate banking opportunities in targeted markets.
- Identify and maintain new business leads through various relationship management methods.
- Attend and host meetings related to new business leads and potential prospects.
- Provide detailed presentations about bank services to intermediaries and clients.
- Collaborate with operational teams to promote a culture of excellence within the account handover processes.
- Travel as required to meet CSPs, TSPs, corporates, and clients, including international travel.
- Handle new business inquiries via face-to-face meetings, email, virtual calls, and telephone.
- Initiate new business projects, proposing innovative ideas to enhance sales.
- Reflect the values of the organisation in all client-facing interactions.
- Monitor new business statistics and capture client feedback for strategic discussions.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to create content that enhances business development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally in financial services.
- Strong understanding of commercial banking principles and AML practices.
- Experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships across multiple sectors is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to demonstrate good professional judgement with respect to risk management.
- High levels of integrity and motivation to drive success.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to drive new business ideas.
