Multimedia Journalist

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Journalist to join their news team in the Isle of Man as they continue to expand. This full-time position offers a dynamic working environment where your passion for news and current affairs will be put to great use. You will be responsible for finding, researching, writing, and presenting news stories across various platforms, including on-air, social media, and the company website. In this role, you will work closely with the news team to deliver accurate and engaging content. You will need a good broadcasting voice and the confidence to present both pre-recorded and live news segments. Flexibility to work outside normal office hours, along with a clean, full driving licence, is essential for this position.

JOB DUTIES:

• Research, write, and present news stories for broadcast, social media and online platforms.
• Find and develop engaging content that resonates with the audience.
• Work collaboratively with the news team to ensure timely delivery of accurate news updates.
• Utilise the latest technology to enhance news coverage and presentation.
• Maintain awareness of current affairs and local issues relevant to the Isle of Man.
• Present both pre-recorded and live news segments with professionalism and clarity.
• Adhere to all legal and regulatory guidelines in journalism practices.
• Embrace training opportunities for professional development in journalism skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• You will need previous experience in journalism, ideally with some legal and regulatory knowledge, although training will be provided.
• A good broadcasting voice is essential for effective news presentation.
• You should possess strong research and writing skills to create compelling stories.
• Flexibility in working hours is required to accommodate news events and updates.
• A clean, full driving licence is necessary to enable mobility for news coverage.
