Actuarial Trainees

Our client is seeking highly motivated individuals to join their actuarial team as Actuarial Trainees in Guernsey. This is a full-time position that offers hands-on experience alongside seasoned actuaries, contributing to essential projects in risk management, pricing, and financial modelling. As you embark on this career path, you will develop the skills and qualifications necessary to become a fully qualified actuary, supported by comprehensive study assistance. In this role, you will work within our client's insurance, investment, or pensions practice, assisting in the preparation of data and calculations for actuarial valuations. You will have the opportunity to draft reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients, all while collaborating with fellow trainees and experienced professionals. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for growth and skill advancement, particularly in Excel and specialist actuarial software.

JOB DUTIES:

• Work in an actuarial team within the insurance, investment, or pensions practice.
• Assist in the preparation of data and calculations for actuarial valuations.
• Draft reports and presentations to communicate results effectively to clients.
• Collaborate with other actuarial trainees and experienced actuaries.
• Advance your Excel skills and utilise specialist actuarial software systems.
• Undertake actuarial exams with full study support.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Good mathematical background is essential.
• A degree in a maths, actuarial, economics, or science-based subject is desirable but not essential.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office, notably Word and Excel.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and senior staff members.
• A keen interest in mathematical modelling and problem-solving.
