Lawyer

Our client, an independent offshore law firm located in the Isle of Man, is providing an outstanding opportunity for qualified lawyers to join their busy commercial litigation team. This is a full-time position that invites applications from both junior and senior advocates, as well as lawyers qualified in other Commonwealth jurisdictions who are interested in relocating and requalifying locally. The successful candidate will be essential in managing complex commercial litigation and contributing to the firm's esteemed reputation. This role focuses on handling a diverse range of intricate cases including shareholder and directors’ duties disputes, trust disputes, civil fraud, asset tracing, insolvency and liquidations, as well as banking disputes and regulatory matters. You will work closely with clients to deliver high-quality legal advice and ensure successful case management.

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide accurate, comprehensive technical and strategic legal advice to clients.
• Manage your own files and caseload, with responsibility appropriate to your level of experience.
• Support senior advocates and help progress their caseloads.
• Undertake legal research and prepare clear briefing notes.
• Attend client meetings and calls, and prepare and circulate notes.
• Draft court papers and applications.
• Assist with disclosure and document-management projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified lawyer with relevant experience in commercial litigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach and attention to detail.
• Desirable: Experience in financial services and regulatory matters.
• Desirable: Familiarity with insolvency laws and procedures.
