Assistant Audit Manager

Our client is seeking a full or part-time Assistant Audit Manager to support their audit team. This position will involve assisting the Audit Manager in planning and executing audit processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The role is based in a professional services environment and offers the opportunity to collaborate with both internal and external auditors while contributing to the development of audit strategies. As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing financial statements and helping to ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations. This role is available for a minimum of 25 hours per week.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing internal and external audits to ensure thorough compliance with auditing standards.
  • Support daily audit operations, ensuring adherence to relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Review and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to assess accuracy and integrity.
  • Help identify and assess financial risks, and assist in implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior audit team members to foster their development.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
  • Monitor audit findings and follow up on any corrective actions taken.
  • Explore opportunities to work in other areas, such as the preparation of financial statements and assisting with tax compliance, including drafting tax and VAT returns.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and financial reporting regulations is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of the role.
  • ACCA or ACA qualified, or equivalent professional certification is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software as well as Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.
