Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join their Guernsey office as a Broker/Underwriter Assistant. This full-time role involves learning the underwriting process, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the underwriting team in meeting retention and sales targets.
Job Duties:
- Provide efficient customer service for new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments.
- Learn and follow underwriting processes, procedures, and authority limits.
- Provide clear and accurate product information to clients.
- Calculate premiums or liaise with insurers for non-delegated authority business.
- Handle customer queries via email, phone, and in person within SLA timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions.
- Identify and escalate complaints and referrals as necessary.
- Perform general office support tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards, including treating customers fairly.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Windows-based programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, keen to learn, and adaptable.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of insurance principles and products is desirable but not essential.
