Our client is seeking a Network Fitter to join their team in Guernsey. This role involves working as part of a team to maintain and improve the gas distribution network, ensuring the quality and reliability of services provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of network operations, including mains replacement, new service installations, surveying, and emergency response. Job Duties:
- Carry out work on the gas distribution network as directed, including mains replacement, new service installations, disconnections, and surveying.
- Support the Network Lead in responding to public reported emergencies and hazard resolution.
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on the gas distribution network and associated equipment.
- Collect and report operational data related to the gas distribution network.
- Investigate and control gas leakage issues.
- Ensure accurate drawings and documentation of network modifications.
- Work with contractors and liaise with external agencies and the public as needed.
- Participate in the emergency call-out duty rota on a one-week-in-four basis.
Job Requirements:
- Network Construction Operations (Gas) Level 2 – Service Laying and Mains Laying.
- NCO (Gas) Level 2 – Escape, Locate, Repair.
- Utility SHEA – Gas (SHEA-G) certification.
- Valid EUSR certification.
- Sound operational knowledge of gas distribution networks.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Availability to participate in the emergency call-out duty rota.
- Desirable: HGV licence and knowledge of IGEM technical standards.
