Our client is seeking an Assistant Director to join their Financial Crime Division. This full-time role involves supervising firms under the Bailiwick’s financial crime regime, with a focus on those presenting higher risks of money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. Job Duties:
- Deliver high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation within the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
- Assist in protecting and enhancing the Bailiwick’s international reputation in the financial services sector.
- Support the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard, formulating plans to achieve business objectives and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Oversee the activities of the functional team, ensuring high-quality output and effective workload management.
- Provide guidance and support to staff, including training and development, performance appraisals, and constructive feedback.
- Plan and coordinate financial crime risk-driven on-site inspections and participate in ad-hoc inspections as needed.
- Review inspection scopes, post-inspection reports, and proposed risk mitigation programmes.
- Identify industry-wide themes from inspections and communicate them accordingly.
- Contribute to policy development, including liaising with industry representatives and government authorities.
- Represent the organisation both internationally and locally, including conducting training and workshops.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in financial services or a similar environment.
- Knowledge of the Handbook on Countering Financial Crime (AML/CFT/CPF).
- Strong report writing skills and ability to produce high-quality documentation.
- Ability to manage and influence teams, providing leadership and support.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Willingness to pursue relevant training and professional qualifications.
