Senior Compliance Manager

Our client is looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to take responsibility for overseeing the compliance and risk functions, ensuring regulatory adherence and effective risk management. This full-time role will involve acting as the Compliance Officer and MLRO/DMLRO, being the main point of contact with the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority, and managing a small compliance team. Job Duties:

  • Act as Compliance Officer and MLRO/DMLRO.
  • Serve as the primary contact with the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority.
  • Review, advise on, and implement applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Manage the compliance monitoring programme to assess regulatory adherence.
  • Conduct internal audit reviews to test the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Review advertisements and promotional content for regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure collective investment scheme documentation complies with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee risk management and monitor controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Advise on the impact of new processes, products, and practices on the risk environment.
  • Manage the company’s risk policies and maintain the risk register.
  • Deliver anti-money laundering training to staff.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the business.
  • Build effective relationships with directors, staff, and third parties.
  • Lead and mentor a small compliance team.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of fiduciary and fund service operations.
  • Significant experience in compliance, risk, and/or audit.
  • Experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO desirable.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a compliance or risk role.
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as ICA.
  • Previous experience holding a Controlled Function status.
  • Strong experience in managing, developing, and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven management experience and ability to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to task planning and organisation.
