Client Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a Client Accounting Manager to lead and manage a team of accountants and bookkeepers in the Isle of Man. The successful candidate will oversee the workflow of the accounting function, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements while maintaining profitability. This role involves working closely with trust administration teams, auditors, and third parties to ensure high standards of client service and compliance with statutory requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Managing and overseeing the accounting function, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Leading a team of accountants and bookkeepers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Reviewing and preparing complex financial statements in line with UK GAAP/FRS 102.
  • Ensuring all financial statements comply with statutory requirements.
  • Monitoring and improving profitability through efficient fee structures and timely invoicing.
  • Supporting trust administration teams with accounting-related client fee proposals.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, auditors, and third parties.
  • Driving operational efficiencies and supporting business change initiatives.
  • Producing accurate and timely management information and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensuring adherence to business risk policies and escalating issues as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant accounting experience within fiduciary services, including at least five years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly UK GAAP/FRS 102.
  • Experience managing teams and providing professional development support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including delivering presentations at board level.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA); a fiduciary qualification (e.g., STEP) is desirable.
  • Excellent command of English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
