Head of Risk & Compliance

Our client is seeking a full-time, permanent Head of Risk and Compliance to join their dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Boards of Directors, you will play a key role in safeguarding the organisation's integrity by overseeing compliance, developing policies, and managing risk across the group’s various entities. This role involves active monitoring of legal, regulatory, and industry changes to ensure timely updates to the Group’s Business Risk Assessment (BRA) and compliance policies. Job Duties:

  • Oversee and manage all compliance activities, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies across business operations.
  • Monitor legal, regulatory, and industry changes, ensuring updates are reflected in policies and procedures.
  • Lead the compliance team, providing training and guidance on regulatory matters.
  • Act as the Group’s Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO), unless otherwise designated.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders, providing clear communication on compliance updates and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to the Boards of Directors.
  • Maintain effective documentation and reporting systems for compliance activities.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior compliance role, ideally within the legal or Trust and Corporate Service Provider (TCSP) sectors.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, including data protection laws.
  • Experience in risk assessment and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a compliance team.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in compliance or risk management are desirable.
