Our client is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to support senior management in delivering a successful and effective compliance function. This full-time, permanent role focuses on ensuring all relevant entities comply with applicable laws, codes of practice, and internal policies and procedures for growing Schedule 2 businesses. The Compliance Manager will also act as MLCO and MLRO for designated entities and oversee the outsourced roles of MLCO and MLRO for other entities.
Job Duties:
- Act as MLCO and MLRO for relevant entities.
- Oversee outsourced MLCO and MLRO roles, ensuring compliance with the agreed Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP).
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, including Jersey and Guernsey Financial Services Commissions.
- Design, amend, and test AML/CFT/CPF systems, controls, policies, and procedures for compliance.
- Develop and manage the Compliance Monitoring Programme to test performance, monitor adherence, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and maintain compliance-related policies and procedures for prescribed businesses.
- Maintain accurate compliance logs and ensure all regulatory returns are accurate and timely.
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely management information to business officers.
- Act as the Data Protection Manager and Champion, reporting to the Data Protection Officer.
- Support the implementation of ISQM 1 and ISQM 2 best practices to enhance compliance and quality review processes.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on regulatory compliance matters.
- Prepare and present MLRO and MLCO reports to boards as needed.
- Assist employees with compliance queries and escalate issues as appropriate.
Job Requirements:
- CGI/STEP Diploma or equivalent, or studying toward these qualifications (minimum Table 5 qualification with 5 years of relevant experience).
- Qualified accountant or equivalent function-relevant qualification.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Proven management training and experience.
- Strong client focus with the ability to deliver high-quality, client-focused services.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and people management skills.
- Commercially aware with a solutions-focused and innovative approach to work.
- Thorough understanding of AML/CFT/CPF regulations and compliance frameworks.
