Job Duties:
- Ensure the availability and operational stability of critical infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage).
- Monitor systems to prevent outages and maintain business continuity.
- Optimise infrastructure resource utilisation to align with budget constraints and minimise over-provisioning.
- Provide timely support for infrastructure-related issues, including escalation for complex incidents.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patching to ensure system security and compliance with policies.
- Implement and manage security protocols, firewalls, and threat detection systems to safeguard the IT environment.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring backup systems are properly configured and tested.
- Maintain detailed and version-controlled documentation of network configurations, system setups, and technical procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to align infrastructure with organisational strategy and manage services.
- Anticipate and plan for future infrastructure needs, ensuring scalability and seamless performance during growth.
Job Requirements:
- Technical qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- Proficiency in network management, including protocols like DNS and VPN, and tools such as SolarWinds.
- Experience managing and configuring Windows and Linux servers, including virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Cloud platform expertise with providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure deployment and security.
- Knowledge of automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Experience with monitoring and threat detection tools (e.g., Splunk, Nessus) and endpoint security solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing hardware, network, and software issues.
- Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and storage systems like SAN and NAS.
- Documentation and reporting proficiency, including tools like Confluence or Power BI.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities across IT teams and departments.
- Basic project management skills for coordinating infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
- Understanding of IT service management frameworks like ITIL for incident and request management.
