Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) to support their Guernsey Compliance team. This role involves assisting the MLRO and MLCO with financial crime compliance, regulatory reviews, and the maintenance of a robust financial crime control framework. Job Duties:
- Support the MLRO and MLCO in their duties, including site visits and thematic reviews by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
- Deputise for the MLRO, managing IDRs (Internal Disclosure Reports), consent requests, and related queries.
- Facilitate internal and external audits related to financial crime.
- Implement and oversee a robust Financial Crime control framework.
- Assist with internal and external reporting to local committees, the board, and the regulator.
- Monitor compliance with Guernsey’s laws related to money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation financing.
- Review and approve client onboardings and periodic reviews.
- Support strategic projects to upgrade and enhance monitoring and surveillance systems.
- Collaborate with Channel Islands and Group stakeholders to deliver initiatives and build strategic partnerships.
- Address findings from compliance investigations, monitoring, and financial crime validation testing.
- Provide AML/CFT training to the business and support on-site visits.
- Offer financial crime advice to the business and respond to regulatory information requests.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ compliance experience with an international financial services organisation, preferably in the banking industry.
- Strong understanding of financial crime, regulatory compliance, and international sanctions obligations in Guernsey.
- Relevant qualification, such as an ICA Diploma.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- High ethical standards and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters discreetly.
