Temporary Business Control Unit Manager - 6 months

Our client is seeking a Temporary Business Control Unit Manager to join their team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This role requires the candidate to reside and have the right to work in the Isle of Man. The successful candidate will oversee and ensure compliance with regulations, managing operational and anti-money laundering risks within the International Wealth and Investment business units. This position is critical in delivering a robust first line of defence, ensuring operational risk is effectively mitigated.

 

Job Duties:

  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex risk and compliance matters.
  • Complete the Risk and Control Self-Assessment for Corporate and Business Banking and International Wealth and Investment processes.
  • Provide timely advice on compliance and regulatory issues to the team.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with Operational Risk, IPB, and Business BCU representatives.
  • Oversee and ensure adherence to operational assurance test plans for the Jersey Front Office.
  • Manage and control risk exposure in line with established procedures and processes.
  • Monitor and mitigate operational and anti-money laundering risks to safeguard the organisation.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Risk Management or a first degree in Corporate Governance or Risk Management.
  • 5-7 years of experience in finance or offshore industries.
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulations and associated risks.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing risk mitigation plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Behavioural competencies such as managing tasks, taking action, and exploring possibilities.
  • Technical expertise in banking processes, client servicing, fraud detection, and risk awareness.
