Our client is seeking a Network Support Manager to oversee maintenance tasks and capital projects related to network fixed assets, including meters, services, mains, and PRIs. This role ensures the safe operation of the gas distribution network, with responsibilities spanning network integrity, pressure point validation, line sizing, and Safe Control of Operations (SCO). Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will provide independent oversight of network operations and support network capital projects while maintaining accurate records.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance and capital projects related to network fixed assets.
- Ensure safe control of operations across the gas networks and operational sites.
- Maintain communication links to notify relevant stakeholders of proposed work.
- Manage conflicts in procedures affecting network security and supply.
- Validate the competency of individuals undertaking work and manage registrations accordingly.
- Liaise with engineers to ensure contingency plans are in place and appropriately validated.
- Record and maintain accurate documentation of network operations and procedures.
- Conduct and review SCO audits, reporting findings to senior management.
- Oversee odour monitoring and ensure compliance with procedures.
- Manage and update network records, including risk and analysis models.
- Utilise systems such as Esri ArcGIS and CMMS to analyse network performance and integrity.
- Provide technical support and assist in developing asset information systems.
- Support the Supervising Officer in preparing work packages and ensuring accurate drawings are provided for work suppliers.
- Monitor and control work undertaken on the gas distribution network, ensuring minimal disruption to customers.
- Participate in site surveys, data collection, and improvement projects related to GIS.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of gas distribution networks and asset management.
- Experience in network analysis, risk modelling, and data management.
- Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS, CMMS, and other asset management systems.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external agencies.
- Ability to validate and assess competency standards for network operations personnel.
- Understanding of Safe Control of Operations (SCO) and health and safety regulations.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage network hazards and events.
- Experience in project management and delivering technical objectives.
- Strong attention to detail with experience in maintaining accurate records.
