Apprentice Underwriter

Our client is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity within their underwriting team in Guernsey or Jersey. This full-time apprenticeship, starting in July, August, or September, provides a structured 3.5-year programme leading to nationally recognised qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience, comprehensive training, and a clear career path within the insurance sector, all while earning a full-time salary.

Job Duties:

• Work alongside industry professionals to gain practical underwriting experience.
• Learn risk assessment techniques and underwriting processes through structured training.
• Engage in a blended learning approach, including work-based study, online and distance learning, and development workshops.
• Develop strong analytical skills to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Provide excellent customer service while collaborating with colleagues in a dynamic environment.
• Participate in professional development activities to build industry knowledge and career progression.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C (4-9) or above, including Maths and English.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A motivated self-starter with a passion for learning and professional development.
• A team player with a friendly, inquisitive, and positive attitude.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Willingness to embrace new challenges and contribute to the team.
