Our client is seeking a Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO), and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join their team. Appointed by and reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, developing policies, and implementing best practices to mitigate risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and financial crime.
Job Duties:
- Ensure compliance with Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) regulations, laws, and internal policies.
- Oversee risk assessments, business take-on procedures, and client identification processes.
- Design and implement compliance policies, procedures, and training programmes.
- Conduct compliance reviews, prepare reports for the Board, and liaise with regulatory authorities.
- Develop and maintain anti-money laundering (AML) frameworks, monitor suspicious transactions, and manage Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Provide training, support, and supervision to employees regarding compliance and AML requirements.
- Implement business continuity plans, risk assessments, and internal audits.
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, including responding to information requests from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
- Manage SARs, determine necessary actions, and ensure compliance with AML/CFT requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Strong understanding of JFSC regulations and AML/CFT requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, adaptable, and flexible approach to work.
- Strong planning, organisational, and supervisory skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, client databases, and compliance-related software.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the financial services industry within a Trust Company Business.
- Educated to degree level and/or holds a relevant professional qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of AML regulations, client due diligence, and compliance frameworks.
