Risk & Compliance Business Analyst

Our client is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Business Analyst to support the implementation and maintenance of robust AML/CFT and sanctions frameworks. The role involves managing systems, projects, and user acceptance testing, as well as producing management information to enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and controls.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems and controls for sanctions screening, online training, and client information recording.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and recommend improvements within AML/CFT and sanctions frameworks.
  • Support the management team in ensuring an effective sanctions screening framework, making decisions on sanction screening matches and assisting with MLRO/MLCO referrals.
  • Provide technical support on complex customer due diligence (CDD) queries.
  • Manage the collation of information in response to Police Liaison Notices and Court Production Orders within specified timelines.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of online and face-to-face training on sanctions, suspicious activity reporting, and customer due diligence.
  • Produce accurate management information reports for boards and committees on AML/CFT and sanctions processes.
  • Work on regulatory projects, contributing to the improvement of policies, procedures, systems, and controls.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and data interrogation skills.
  • Experience in an anti-money laundering role with knowledge of Jersey AML/CFT legislation.
  • Familiarity with CDD, client take-on procedures, and RiskScreen screening tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, and AML/CFT screening systems.
  • Experience in a project-driven environment is preferred.
  • ICA Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering or equivalent is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow due process.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proactive approach, willingness to improve processes, and strong moral integrity.
