Our client is seeking a Head of Compliance to oversee statutory and regulatory compliance across its operations. The role involves developing and implementing local policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices. The successful candidate will act as Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), providing strategic guidance to senior management while maintaining effective compliance monitoring systems.
Job Duties:
- Act as the designated Compliance Officer and MLRO
- Advise the board, executive committee, risk committee, managers, and employees on regulation, risk management, corporate governance, and internal policies
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the compliance team, ensuring effective workload distribution
- Identify, draft, and update local policies and procedures in line with group compliance standards
- Ensure the compliance monitoring programme is fit for purpose and that monitoring activities are conducted on schedule
- Oversee KYC/Customer Due Diligence (CDD) analysis and business acceptance processes
- Maintain key compliance registers and ensure file reviews and audits are completed within service level agreements
- Provide compliance training to employees, promoting a strong compliance culture within the organisation
- Maintain a strong working relationship with local regulatory bodies, acting as the principal contact
- Attend management meetings, prepare reports on regulatory matters, and stay up to date with changes in regulations
Job Requirements:
- At least 4–5 years of experience in a similar compliance role, with consideration given to candidates ready for the next step
- ICA Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Experience in both trust and funds sectors, in line with regulatory requirements
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to produce management information and deliver projects within deadlines
- Strong technical knowledge of compliance and data protection legislation
