Our client is seeking an Associate Accountant to support financial reporting and ensure accurate financial data. Based in Jersey, this role reports directly to the Financial Accountant and is ideal for candidates with experience in accounts payable or receivable who are looking to transition into financial reporting. It also offers a strong foundation for those beginning their professional qualification journey.
Job Duties:
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to validate data and maintain accurate reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial controls.
Job Requirements:
- Progress towards (or ambition to pursue) a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA is desirable.
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general ledger accounting.
- Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits, credits, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
