Our client is seeking a Data Governance Lead to spearhead data governance initiatives and ensure the integrity, quality, and security of data assets. This role involves developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and processes to support strategic objectives and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have a strong finance background, experience with Solvency II, and the ability to lead governance strategies at a high level.
Job Duties:
- Support the development and articulation of data governance vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Define governance objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Establish governance structures, roles, and responsibilities for effective data stewardship.
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define data classification schemes, ownership models, and lifecycle management practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Establish and enforce data quality standards, monitoring mechanisms, and improvement initiatives.
- Develop and enforce data security and privacy policies, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Implement data management processes, maintaining data lineage, definitions, and documentation.
- Provide training and guidance on data governance principles, raising awareness across the organisation.
- Establish oversight mechanisms, monitor compliance, and report governance metrics to senior leadership.
Job Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Experience in financial services with knowledge of Solvency II.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and drive change within a complex organisational environment.
- Certification in data governance or related areas is desirable.
