Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their client accounting team in Jersey. This is a full-time role reporting to the Client Accounting Manager, responsible for performing accurate bookkeeping on a portfolio of trust and company clients. The role includes reconciliations, ledger closures, and year-end preparations, with the opportunity to support the preparation of financial statements. You will be working in a supportive environment with on-the-job training and professional development.
Job Duties:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for client entities, including processing payments and receipts
- Record investment transactions, including purchases, sales, dividends, interest, and corporate actions
- Complete quarterly reconciliations on investment reports, bank statements, and loan accounts
- Assist with year-end processes, including completing checklists and closing down client ledgers
- Input adjustments from the accounts preparation process into client records
- Assist in the preparation of draft financial statements under the supervision of the Client Accounting Manager
- Support the resolution of outstanding accounting matters in coordination with the Client Accounting Manager
- Liaise with administrators when accounts are prepared externally and ensure internal records are accurate
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports for specific clients or the trust company, as required
- Attend CPD training in line with regulatory requirements
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies and current regulatory obligations, including the TCB Codes of Practice
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested, including those directed by the board or its committees
- Comply with policies related to AML and corporate governance
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a bookkeeping role within the Jersey trust industry
- Some experience in accounts preparation is desirable, although training will be provided
- Entitled to work in Jersey, having at least five years’ residency
- Knowledge of Dynamic 365 and eDocs is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Understanding of Jersey trust, company, foundation, and limited partnership law, as well as relevant Jersey and UK tax matters
- Awareness of financial markets, global economic issues, and fiduciary risk responsibilities
- Motivated and dependable, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
