IT Senior Service Desk Trainee

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic IT Senior Service Desk Trainee to join their dedicated team based in Guernsey. This full-time role is designed for individuals eager to kickstart their careers in IT support, providing them with the opportunity to learn and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will assist in day-to-day operations and ongoing projects, ensuring that users receive top-notch support for all their hardware and software queries.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with logging and tracking IT support requests.
  • Shadow experienced team members to learn how to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
  • Provide friendly and helpful support to users under supervision.
  • Learn how to prioritise and manage support tickets effectively.
  • Help with setting up and maintaining hardware, including computers and printers.
  • Support account setup and closure processes for new starters and leavers.
  • Participate in routine checks and updates of IT systems.
  • Assist with maintaining documentation such as asset registers and process guides.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to learn best practices and participate in team meetings.
  • Get involved in small projects and system testing under guidance.
  • Take part in training sessions to build technical knowledge and confidence.
  • Understand and follow IT policies and procedures, including data protection and security standards.
  • Represent the IT team professionally and demonstrate a positive attitude within the workplace.
