Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Global Compliance team on a permanent basis, based in either Guernsey or Jersey. This key role focuses on the development and review of global risk and compliance policies, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. The role also involves active participation in the Compliance Monitoring Programme, testing internal controls and supporting continuous improvement.
Job Duties:
- Develop and update global compliance policies and procedures in line with jurisdictional laws and regulatory requirements
- Conduct independent research and collaborate with legal and compliance colleagues to analyse regulatory changes
- Participate in control testing as part of the annual Compliance Monitoring Programme
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing processes and recommend improvements
- Work cross-functionally with Business Services teams such as Finance and HR to ensure consistency in compliance approach
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including the General Counsel, Risk & Compliance team, and in-house legal advisers
- Support periodic reporting to stakeholders on policy updates and monitoring results
- Respond to compliance-related queries from internal teams
Job Requirements:
- Experience in compliance, client administration, risk, or operational control within a regulated financial services environment
- Understanding of regulated corporate and fiduciary services in Guernsey and/or Jersey; knowledge of Cayman and BVI advantageous
- Strong knowledge of AML regulations across Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman, BVI, and the UK
- Ability to work independently, with excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Collaborative, proactive approach and a strong team player
