Money Laundering Reporting Officer

Our client is seeking an experienced Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to take a central role in their risk strategy and governance operations. This is a full-time, permanent position with controlled function responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial crime compliance, making decisions regarding suspicious activity disclosures, and liaising directly with financial crime agencies. This is a high-impact role supporting the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure full adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards across the business.

Job Duties:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of an effective Financial Crime prevention framework, including AML, CFT, and fraud
  • Monitor and respond to changes in AML/CFT legislation and regulatory expectations
  • Support implementation of relevant sanctions, prohibitions, or advisory notices
  • Develop internal procedures aligned with legislation and industry guidance
  • Provide AML/CFT compliance support for key strategic initiatives
  • Maintain proactive engagement with regulators regarding AML/CFT matters
  • Ensure AML/CFT and fraud training is delivered globally, in line with Isle of Man and applicable international legislation
  • Oversee reporting to law enforcement, including reviewing and responding to production, restraint, or confiscation orders
  • Draft and coordinate the Annual AML/CFT Report, providing independent assessments for subsidiary companies

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a senior compliance role, preferably within the life and investment sectors
  • In-depth understanding of financial crime legislation and the role of an MLRO in the Isle of Man and other jurisdictions where the Group operates
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an MLRO or DMLRO
  • Relevant professional qualifications or significant experience within a life insurance environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and regulatory knowledge within financial services
  • Proven ability to provide credible subject matter expertise on a timely basis
  • Committed to mentoring and developing colleagues to enhance succession planning and build resilience within the team
