Our client is seeking a dedicated Compliance Assistant Manager and MLCO to join their Risk and Compliance team in Jersey on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role within a forward-thinking, law-firm-led professional services business. The successful candidate will support the Jersey Head of Compliance in managing the compliance framework, hold regulated roles including MLCO and DMLRO (subject to approval), and contribute to broader risk and governance responsibilities across the business.
Job Duties:
- Act as a key point of contact for compliance matters in Jersey, supporting both internal and external stakeholders
- Hold the MLCO and CO roles for regulated trust and AMLSP activities, with responsibility for board reporting and regulatory controls
- Lead on maintaining the Business Risk Assessment and Risk Register in collaboration with the wider business
- Support compliance oversight of the UK law firm and TCSP-licensed company services business
- Act as DMLRO, managing internal reporting of suspicious activities
- Provide compliance advisory support during high-risk client onboarding and reviews
- Deliver a range of core compliance duties including policy oversight, periodic reviews, training, monitoring, and screening escalations
- Participate in cross-jurisdictional initiatives and promote consistent best practices across the group
- Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and gap analysis to ensure the business adapts to evolving legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage and develop team members, supporting professional growth and departmental efficiency
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in compliance, risk, or operational control within a regulated corporate or fund services business
- Strong understanding of anti-financial crime and regulatory frameworks relevant to law firms, fiduciary or fund services
- Previous experience in MLCO, MLRO, or deputy roles preferred
- Skilled in regulatory horizon scanning and applying findings to business improvement
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience delivering training and presenting at board level
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to different client systems and tools
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage a high workload
- A collaborative team player with a pragmatic, risk-based approach
