Our client is seeking a qualified and motivated Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis in Jersey. Working within a close-knit finance team, the successful candidate will support the Financial Controller in preparing monthly management accounts and overseeing the finance function across three trading companies. This role offers a dynamic opportunity within a fast-growing commercial organisation operating in the Channel Islands.
Job Duties:
- Review monthly bank and key balance sheet reconciliations
- Analyse accruals and prepayments, ensuring appropriateness and accuracy
- Conduct monthly reviews of nominal ledgers to ensure correct cost allocations
- Monitor and analyse deferred income against budget to ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Post month-end journals including GRNI, intercompany trading, and work in progress
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts for review
- Complete monthly Group Reporting Packs for submission to the parent company
- Distribute monthly management information across the business
- Oversee the sales order process to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Prepare reconciliations and management information comparing actuals to budget
- Report on time tracking against jobs and contracts
- Review stock lists and coordinate with staff to ensure timely supplier credits
- Review payroll preparation and oversee related processing and payment
- Assist with the preparation of year-end and half-year accounts, financial statements, and supporting documents
- Support the annual budgeting process
- Provide ad-hoc support across the finance team during busy periods or staff absences
Job Requirements:
- Qualified accountant with a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience (exceptional candidates without qualification may be considered)
- Commercial sector experience preferred over financial services
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Navision
- Self-motivated, able to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with Jersey and Guernsey payroll processes is desirable
- Experience managing a small team would be an advantage
