Our client is seeking a full-time, permanent Examiner to join their Financial Crime Examination Unit within the Supervision Division. The role focuses on assessing the systems and controls used by regulated and supervised businesses to mitigate financial crime risks, including anti-money laundering (AML), countering the financing of terrorism (CFT), and countering proliferation financing (CPF). You will be responsible for delivering risk-based examinations, providing clear and constructive feedback, and supporting the wider regulatory framework that upholds Jersey’s status as a leading international finance centre.
Job Duties:
- Conduct risk-based onsite examinations of regulated and supervised entities
- Review pre-examination documentation and conduct interviews with employees and board members
- Perform customer file reviews and assess the effectiveness of AML/CFT/CPF-related technology solutions
- Manage and conclude close-out enquiries post-examination
- Deliver verbal feedback to senior stakeholders and produce high-quality written examination reports
- Monitor and meet examination timelines and performance metrics
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the unit and support delivery of the examination strategy
- Collaborate with team members and the wider Supervision Division to share insights and knowledge
- Support understanding and monitoring of emerging financial crime risks, including sanctions, bribery, and corruption
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in financial services, with understanding of Jersey’s AML/CFT/CPF legislative and regulatory environment
- Working knowledge of relevant risk management, compliance, internal audit, or anti-money laundering practices
- Familiarity with Jersey and international regulatory standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proactive approach to learning and personal development
- Flexible and adaptable mindset with a professional and collaborative attitude
- Experience in or with regulatory bodies is desirable but not essential
