Trust Assistant Manager

Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Guernsey office on a full-time basis. This role supports the day-to-day management of a team of trust and company administrators and reports directly to a Trust Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing an allocated portfolio of clients, supporting junior staff, and ensuring high standards of service delivery and regulatory compliance.

Job Duties:

  • Support the management of a team of administrators, overseeing trust and company administration tasks
  • Assist the team manager in ensuring team targets and regulatory requirements are met
  • Manage a personal portfolio of client entities, ensuring timely and accurate administration
  • Allocate and delegate work within the team, providing guidance and support as required
  • Resolve complex or unusual issues in collaboration with the Team Manager or Directors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries
  • Ensure deadlines are met and client service standards are upheld
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory obligations relevant to the client base
  • Support debt management by monitoring aged debt and reporting concerns to senior management
  • Facilitate training and development of team members as appropriate
  • Represent the team in management meetings during the Team Manager’s absence
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of internal systems and procedures
  • Assist in providing clear management reporting on team performance to senior leadership

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. STEP or ICSA)
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in the trust and corporate services sector
  • Strong understanding of trust and company administration, financial transactions, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven client service excellence and successful client engagement experience
  • Ability to meet billing and cash collection targets
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Confident in managing workloads and supporting others to meet deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with leadership capabilities
  • Previous management experience desirable but not essential
