Our client is seeking a Compliance Manager to join their organisation on a full-time basis. This role plays a vital part in upholding regulatory standards and ensuring effective compliance across the business. The Compliance Manager will work closely with senior stakeholders to maintain a strong compliance framework and support the Head of Governance with AML/CFT/CPF and prudential responsibilities. The position may also involve acting as Compliance Officer, MLCO, or MLRO for client entities.
Job Duties:
- Conduct and review Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP) testing, recommending and tracking corrective actions
- Maintain and update CMP in line with legislative or business changes
- Manage and maintain regulatory registers including Complaints, Breaches, PEPs, Gifts, Conflicts of Interest, and Declined Business
- Provide compliance input during new business onboarding, including attending New Business Acceptance Committee meetings and using regulatory authorisation portals
- Ensure timely submission of regulatory filings
- Support business areas with compliance-related advice and guidance, such as reviewing PEP assessments
- Prepare and update compliance reports for board meetings
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Compliance team, including 1:1s and performance reviews
- Represent Compliance at relevant committees and internal meetings
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and requests across the business
- Assist in delivering training programmes to improve compliance awareness across staff
Job Requirements:
- Hold or be studying towards a recognised qualification such as ICA, or have at least 3 years' experience in a compliance or business support role
- Strong understanding of Guernsey regulatory requirements including the Protection of Investors Law and the Regulation of Fiduciaries Law
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload
- Capable of clearly communicating complex compliance matters both verbally and in writing
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of integrity
- Skilled in working collaboratively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
