Trust Business Compliance Officer

Our client, a leading provider of financial services, is seeking a Trust Business Compliance Officer to support compliance risk management processes within a specific client segment or functional area. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 5–7 years' compliance experience and a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, banking products, and fiduciary services. This role is based in the Channel Islands and does not support relocation.

Job Duties:

  • Analyse operational activities to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Ensure adherence to group-wide compliance frameworks, standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain a regulatory universe relevant to the business segment to ensure continued legislative compliance.
  • Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to implement effective compliance solutions within the business area.
  • Customise and maintain risk management plans aligned with the regulatory context.
  • Draft and deliver compliance reports to governance committees and stakeholders.
  • Support and coordinate regulatory inspections and related engagements.
  • Act as a key liaison for compliance information requests, regulatory updates, and findings.
  • Engage with leadership, client functions, and risk management teams to embed a culture of compliance.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in a compliance role within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and developments.
  • Background in audit, business commerce, or legal disciplines.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
  • Proven experience evaluating internal controls and managing compliance processes.
  • Ability to interpret data, assess risks, and provide practical compliance solutions.
  • Confident communicator able to influence and collaborate across departments.
