Client Accounting Senior Officer / Assistant Manager

Our client is seeking a Client Accounting Senior Officer or Assistant Manager to join their Jersey office on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Client Accounting Manager, this role involves managing a portfolio of client accounting work, supporting junior staff, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards. The position also plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls and enhancing current procedures and workflows.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of the client accounting team
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management accounts for client entities, including complex structures
  • Ensure timely delivery of client accounts in accordance with statutory or agreed deadlines
  • Prepare corporate team management accounts and year-end financial statements
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and procedures relating to account preparation
  • Support and mentor junior team members, promoting learning and development
  • Stay up to date with FRS 102 (1A) and IFRS developments and apply appropriate accounting treatments
  • Assist with bookkeeping issues and remediation as needed
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and reports in line with company standards
  • Plan and prioritise workloads to meet internal targets and client expectations
  • Prepare S731 and Jersey tax returns as required
  • Assist with the preparation of reports for senior management or ad hoc analysis as directed
  • Lead by example and contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in client accounting, ideally within a financial services environment
  • Experience preparing financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 (1A) and IFRS
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staff
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience using Navision or similar accounting systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently
  • Professional approach and strong communication skills
  • Confident IT user with proficiency in Microsoft Office
