Associate Director, Client Compliance

Our client is seeking an Associate Director to join the Client Compliance team on a permanent, full-time basis in Jersey. This senior position plays a crucial leadership role in the prevention, detection, and reporting of financial crime across a portfolio of regulated and supervised client entities. The successful candidate will hold Key Person roles and contribute to the development and delivery of a robust compliance framework, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory and legal requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Act as Compliance Officer (CO), Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO), and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for a range of client entities
  • Provide oversight and advice on AML/CFT/CPF strategies, business risk assessments, and compliance monitoring programmes
  • Prepare and deliver compliance and financial crime reports and statistics for governance purposes
  • Receive, assess and externalise suspicious activity reports, liaising with the relevant FIU as required
  • Ensure proper maintenance of compliance registers and accurate record keeping of regulatory and law enforcement interactions
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams on new business take-ons, risk reviews and CDD/EDD processes
  • Act as a key point of contact with the JFSC and other regulatory authorities
  • Contribute to the firm’s strategic compliance direction, including evaluating new regulated or complex client structures
  • Lead and develop members of the Client Compliance team, promoting a high-performance, learning-driven culture
  • Engage with outsourced service providers, complete documentation and attend relevant governance meetings
  • Review insurance cover relevant to client entity management

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in compliance or related fiduciary/funds environments
  • Holding or actively working towards a recognised compliance qualification (e.g. ICA)
  • Deep understanding of Jersey’s AML/CFT/CPF regulatory environment and JFSC Codes of Practice
  • Proven experience in holding Key Person roles across regulated and supervised entities
  • Ability to manage complex regulatory relationships and deliver effective compliance oversight
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in using compliance tools and maintaining regulatory registers
