Our client is seeking a Compliance Manager to join their Guernsey-based team on a full-time, permanent basis. This hybrid role supports the Compliance Team in ensuring that the business complies with applicable laws, regulations, supervisory expectations, and internal policies. The successful candidate will help safeguard the organisation’s reputation by maintaining effective compliance controls and will be actively involved in a variety of internal operational processes and regulatory activities. This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to gain deep insight into the Guernsey regulatory landscape and how compliance interacts with complex financial services operations.
Job Duties:
- Support the delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Programme
- Maintain and manage compliance registers
- Liaise with operational teams to resolve client due diligence and action point issues
- Assist in the preparation of substantive and administrative responses to breaches, errors, omissions, and complaints
- Support compliance analysis for new client onboarding and periodic client reviews
- Review high-risk files and issues escalated from the wider business
- Contribute to the drafting and review of compliance policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate compliance-related record-keeping
- Assist with internal management and external regulatory reporting
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, providing regulatory guidance where needed
- Participate in group-level projects and collaborate with colleagues in other jurisdictions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Guernsey regulatory requirements, particularly the GFSC Handbook on Countering Financial Crime and Terrorist Financing
- Promote a strong culture of compliance, acting as a role model for procedural improvement and governance adherence
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable AML/CFT laws, including reporting suspicious activity and maintaining client due diligence
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a compliance role at Manager, Assistant Manager, or equivalent level
- Experience in regulated finance or professional services
- Strong organisational skills and supervisory experience
- Solid understanding of relevant business operations and applicable regulations
- Professionally qualified (e.g. ICA Diploma, STEP, ICSA) or qualified by experience
- Strong technical IT skills
