Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Client Accounting team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the review and preparation of financial statements for a portfolio of trust and company clients, ensuring all work meets statutory and regulatory standards, and providing a high level of service to internal stakeholders.
Job Duties:
- Draft financial statements for clients
- Audit computerised accounting records prior to financial statement preparation
- Review minute books, statutory records, trust documents, and correspondence files
- Liaise with auditors as required to support their work and respond to queries
- Assist in the training and development of colleagues by sharing specialist knowledge
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of relevant systems including Excel, iManage and NavOne
- Review and clear daily exception reports
- Resolve accounting-related queries and provide problem-solving support
- Participate in special projects and complaint investigations as required
- Ensure fees for financial statement preparation are billed promptly
- Stay informed of relevant Guernsey regulatory requirements
- File Suspicious Transaction Reports with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer as necessary
Job Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of computerised accounting systems
- Proven experience preparing financial statements for trusts and companies
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with Guernsey’s regulatory environment
- Recently qualified or currently studying towards ACA, ACCA or equivalent
