Our client is seeking a Senior Supervisor to join their Supervision division on a full-time, permanent basis. This leadership role involves overseeing a team responsible for the supervision of regulated entities across the banking, insurance, and consumer credit sectors. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of Jersey’s regulatory framework and support the delivery of risk-based supervision to ensure high standards of compliance and business integrity.
Job Duties:
- Lead and manage a team of Supervisors in executing supervision of entities using a risk-based, mitigation-focused approach
- Act as a key point of contact with senior executives in supervised firms to understand their business strategies, risks, and compliance practices
- Apply risk modelling to identify escalating risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies with follow-up actions
- Ensure all supervisory activities are completed in line with internal processes, SLAs, and KPIs
- Deliver high-quality analysis of risk data to support insight into sector trends and regulatory effectiveness
- Deputise for the Senior Manager in internal and external matters as required
- Coach and develop team members to build expertise and ensure consistent high standards of supervisory output
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team and wider organisation
- Engage with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure cohesive and aligned supervision practices
Job Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of financial services and regulatory frameworks, both in Jersey and internationally
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders
- Proven experience in a supervisory or regulatory environment, ideally within banking, insurance or consumer credit sectors
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, with a risk-based approach to supervision
- Demonstrable experience in coaching and developing teams to high performance
- Flexible, motivated and committed to continuous learning and professional development
