Our client is seeking a kind, capable, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to support their busy private household on a permanent, full-time basis. The role involves maintaining a clean, well-organised home, supporting daily routines, and assisting with occasional errands. The household includes two teenage daughters, a dog, and a cat, and requires someone who is reliable, proactive, and takes pride in creating a smooth-running, welcoming environment.
Job Duties:
- Dusting furniture, shelves, and surfaces
- Vacuuming carpets, rugs, upholstery, and floors
- Sweeping and mopping hard flooring
- Cleaning bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, and mirrors
- Washing windows and cleaning glass surfaces
- Cleaning kitchen surfaces and appliances
- Emptying bins and managing household waste
- Polishing mirrors, taps, and metal fixtures
- Conducting regular deep cleaning
- Washing, drying, folding, and ironing laundry
- Organising wardrobes, closets, and storage areas
- Mending minor clothing damage
- Taking garments to and from the dry cleaners if needed
- Making beds and changing bed linen
- Restocking household supplies
- Maintaining a regular cleaning schedule
- Notifying the homeowner of necessary repairs or replacements
- Assisting with food shopping and light meal preparation
- Cleaning kitchen appliances including refrigerator and microwave
- Washing dishes and managing the dishwasher
- Feeding pets and cleaning their bedding
- Walking the dog as needed
- Occasionally driving teenage children to local destinations
- Receiving deliveries and coordinating access for tradespeople
- Watering indoor plants and carrying out light gardening duties
- Preparing guest rooms and assisting with party/event setup and clean-up
- Running local errands such as dry cleaning drop-offs and collections
Job Requirements:
- Prior experience in a private household or similar domestic role
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
- Trustworthy and respectful of household privacy
- Good communication skills and a practical, helpful approach
- Comfortable with pets and interacting with teenagers
- Basic cooking skills and confidence with household errands
- Clean driving licence is desirable
