Our client is seeking a Trainee Tax Associate to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. This is a developmental opportunity for a school leaver or graduate looking to build a career in tax. You will provide support across a growing and varied portfolio of UK and Jersey clients, including high net worth individuals, offshore trusts, local traders and property structures. You will also study towards a relevant professional qualification while gaining practical experience under the guidance of senior team members.
Job Duties:
- Assist with the preparation of tax computations and tax returns for a range of clients
- Support the client take-on process and assist with data collection and onboarding
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
- Assist with billing processes, debtor management and reconciliation tasks
- Provide administrative support to senior colleagues as required
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory guidelines
- Monitor WIP and assist with identifying out-of-scope work for management discussions
- Develop an understanding of UK and Jersey tax legislation and stay up to date with changes
- Support with special projects and other ad hoc tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Graduate or school leaver with a strong interest in a career in tax
- Strong PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, with an aptitude for learning and professional development
- A collaborative team player who follows procedures and contributes to a positive working environment
- Willingness to study towards a recognised tax qualification
