Tax Manager

Our client is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing Jersey tax team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role offers excellent opportunities for progression and would suit someone with strong experience in Jersey tax compliance and advisory services. Applications are also welcome from individuals at Assistant Manager or Senior Manager level. You will be responsible for a portfolio of Jersey-based clients, delivering high-quality tax work and contributing to the wider success of the team through coaching, business development, and technical leadership.

Job Duties:

  • Deliver Jersey tax compliance and advisory services in collaboration with the Tax Leadership Team
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of Jersey personal, company, and partnership tax clients
  • Review and occasionally prepare Jersey tax returns, ensuring accuracy and meeting all deadlines
  • Liaise with Revenue Jersey and other authorities in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain high standards of tax file completion and identify technical issues
  • Oversee workflows and deadlines, ensuring efficient turnaround of work
  • Undertake advisory and research work using initiative and technical judgement
  • Monitor departmental work-in-progress and contribute to team billing targets
  • Support delivery of departmental KPIs and ongoing process improvements
  • Review junior team members’ work and provide coaching and development
  • Build strong client relationships to support retention and growth
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across services and support business development
  • Represent the firm in a professional manner, promoting its services and values

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience (applications from candidates with less are also welcomed)
  • Relevant professional qualification, with ATT and/or CTA (or working towards) highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to deal with all levels of stakeholders
  • Ability to apply tax knowledge to non-routine problems and conduct detailed analysis
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Experience with Financial Services and Real Estate clients is desirable
  • Knowledge of Economic Substance Law and its impact on local and non-resident structures is advantageous
  • Proactive, team-oriented mindset with the flexibility to meet tight deadlines
