Our client is seeking a Tax Assistant Manager to join their Jersey office on a full-time, permanent basis. This role will support the Tax Director in ensuring the smooth running of the Jersey tax compliance department. You will oversee the day-to-day management of the function, ensure technical quality and timely turnaround of work, and support the development of junior team members. Job Duties:
- Manage the daily operations of the Jersey tax compliance function
- Ensure internal processes are followed and compliance deadlines are met with efficient turnaround
- Chair regular meetings with Tax Seniors to discuss workflow, deadlines, and technical matters
- Liaise regularly with the Tax Director on the status of compliance clients
- Review work prepared by the tax team, including first and second reviews as appropriate
- Monitor advisory work related to compliance clients and ensure timely delivery
- Assist with the technical development of junior tax staff and address knowledge gaps
- Act as primary contact for the Business Advisory department, ensuring timely and commercial responses
- Support the Tax Manager in monitoring departmental work-in-progress and meeting monthly deadlines
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and contribute to client retention and business growth
- Work with the Tax Co-ordinator to ensure tax client risk reviews are completed as required
- Promote the firm by building professional relationships and supporting new business opportunities
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of four years’ relevant experience in tax
- Holds a recognised professional qualification
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Confidence to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, flexible, and willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining professional standards
- Strong client service ethic and a motivated, results-driven approach
