Our client is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join their Isle of Man office on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of a robust compliance framework within a regulated financial services environment. You will provide second line of defence support across compliance, financial crime prevention, and data protection matters, while building strong working relationships with senior management, compliance peers, and wider regional staff.
Job Duties:
- Provide informed guidance on compliance, financial crime prevention, and data protection matters
- Prepare regulatory reporting and thematic reviews, and manage correspondence with internal stakeholders and the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority
- Assist with the remediation of findings from internal, group, or regulatory audits
- Design and implement compliance programmes, including policies, procedures, and controls, in line with applicable laws and regulations
- Promote a positive team environment and uphold the organisation’s values
- Monitor regulatory developments and communicate changes to management and staff through horizon scanning activities
- Manage compliance referrals and liaise with staff and management to resolve queries
- Review and analyse screening results, escalating where appropriate
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in compliance within the financial services sector, ideally with exposure to multi-jurisdictional insurance operations
- Strong technical knowledge of AML/CFT, CRS/FATCA, and data protection requirements
- Ability to identify and assess regulatory risks to the business
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong IT skills and proficiency in compliance systems
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and report writing skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach to improving processes
- ICA Diploma (desirable)
- Must be based in the Isle of Man, with some home working available
