Responsible Gambling Officer

Our client is seeking a Responsible Gambling Officer to join them on a full-time, permanent basis in the Isle of Man. This role sits within the Compliance Department and focuses on customer protection, affordability reviews, and responsible gambling investigations. You will assess customer activity, identify high-risk behaviour, and interact with customers via email, live chat, or telephone to ensure safe and responsible gambling practices. This position operates on a rota basis and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays across a 35-hour working week.

Job Duties:

  • Analyse customer behaviour and activity to identify high-risk accounts
  • Escalate high-risk cases in a timely manner and prevent multi-accounting
  • Conduct responsible gambling investigations, including customer contact via various communication channels
  • Discuss account activity and responsible gambling tools with customers to support safer gambling
  • Conduct affordability assessments
  • Perform enhanced customer due diligence in line with AML and CFT regulations for escalated cases
  • Resolve customer queries directly and those escalated from the Member Support/Operational team
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and record keeping
  • Carry out other compliance-related duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C or above
  • One year’s experience in a compliance, risk, regulation, or responsible gambling role is desirable, though full training will be provided
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to understand and apply governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Willingness to learn legislation from the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, UK Gambling Commission, and Jersey Gambling Commission
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, including handling difficult conversations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proactive and methodical, with excellent attention to detail
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritising under pressure
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ethical, professional, responsible, and accountable approach
