Our client is seeking a Personal Lines Broker or Trainee Personal Lines Broker to join their growing team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a varied office-based role involving the handling of all personal lines enquiries, including motor, household, marine, travel, and equine insurance. You will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of renewals, dealing with new business, processing mid-term adjustments, and handling policy renewals. The role may occasionally involve client meetings off-site.
Job Duties:
- Handle a portfolio of personal lines renewals each month
- Obtain up-to-date information from clients for quoting and risk assessment
- Create risk presentations and negotiate terms with insurers based on client needs
- Manage mid-term adjustments, policy documentation, and policy set-up
- Maintain accurate file notes and communication records
- Produce debit notes and follow up for payment according to insurer and internal credit terms
- Identify new business opportunities and refer leads as appropriate
- Maximise cross-selling opportunities in line with company objectives
- Ensure full compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements, including confirmation of client instructions and disclosure of material facts to underwriters
- Attend client meetings both in the office and externally as required
- Manage your own diary efficiently while contributing as part of a team
Job Requirements:
- Ideally Cert CII or working towards (full training provided for trainee level)
- Previous experience in personal lines insurance is desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Excellent administration, communication, and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to produce quality risk submissions and achieve best terms with insurers
- Proactive, results-driven, and customer-focused approach
- Flexible team player with a positive attitude
