Our client is seeking a Lending Mortgage Specialist to join their front office lending team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in banking or lending who is looking for the next step in their career within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. You will play a key role in managing client lending needs, assessing applications, and ensuring compliance with risk and credit policies.
Job Duties:
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, handling mortgage and loan application queries via email, telephone or face-to-face
- Review, assess and process mortgage and loan applications within agreed service level agreements
- Provide credit advisory support internally and externally, assessing structures and offering tailored solutions
- Renew and review existing loan facilities in line with credit policy
- Present cases to the bank’s credit committee for approval
- Support other Lending Officers in concluding the facilities they underwrite
- Liaise with Credit Risk and Credit Operations to ensure all credit facilities are aligned with internal risk strategy
- Contribute to new product development, ensuring risk awareness is embedded at all stages
- Identify and propose improvements to streamline the lending process
- Support the achievement of Channel Islands lending targets
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance, banking or lending
- Willingness to undertake relevant qualifications (e.g. CEMAP)
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Strong accuracy, reliability and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A co-operative and team-oriented attitude
