Senior Client Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Client Accountant to join their expanding Accounting Services team in Jersey. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the opportunity to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play a key part in delivering high-quality financial reporting and accounting services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and review of annual financial statements, management accounts, and audit support, while also mentoring junior colleagues and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Job Duties:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting tasks for a portfolio of clients
• Prepare and review annual financial statements and management accounts
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors and assist with audit preparations
• Support the submission of VAT returns and other regulatory filings
• Track the timely preparation of financial information across the team
• Review the work of bookkeepers and junior accountants
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes and develop the service offering
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls
• Liaise with clients, internal teams, and other service lines to maintain strong relationships

Job Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience in client accounting or accounts preparation
• Experience working in a real estate, private wealth, corporate, or debt capital markets accounting environment (desirable but not essential)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office packages
• Proactive and analytical mindset, with a keen attention to detail
