Our client is seeking a Senior Client Accountant to join their Capital Markets team in Jersey on a full-time, permanent basis. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of structured finance and capital markets entities. You will play a key part in the delivery of high-quality accounting and financial services while gaining valuable exposure to complex international transactions and financial products.
Job Duties:
- Review transaction documents and determine correct accounting treatment for SPVs and cell companies
- Set up and maintain general ledgers in accordance with transaction structures
- Record journal entries and keep accounting records up to date
- Prepare financial statements under IFRS or local GAAP, ensuring all disclosures are included
- Liaise with auditors to ensure timely completion of audits
- Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts and other client deliverables
- Prepare and file corporation tax returns
- Resolve technical accounting issues in collaboration with clients and external parties
- Review and approve accounting work completed by colleagues
- Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes
- Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of capital markets structures and financial instruments
Job Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Background in financial services or accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and principles
- Audit experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work effectively to deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative team player with a professional and reliable approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
