Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Internal Banking & Payments team on a permanent, full-time basis. This hybrid role supports the operational delivery of payment approvals and banking administration across multiple jurisdictions. You will be responsible for managing payment processes, platform access, and banking relationships while ensuring all activities are compliant with internal controls, policies, and regulatory obligations.
Job Duties:
- Review and authorise payments across a range of banking platforms including Faster Payments, CHAPS, international payments, ACH, and wire transfers
- Ensure adherence to external and internal deadlines, aligning with bank cut-off times and internal service level agreements
- Maintain and administer banking platforms, including user access, bank mandate updates, and the setup of new platforms
- Approve internal cost and working capital transfers, ensuring all payment instructions have sufficient supporting rationale and follow appropriate approval processes
- Ensure all payment instructions comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Manage and maintain the internal global database of bank accounts, liaising with auditors as needed
- Adhere to and enforce policies and procedures to proactively manage operational risk
- Support the development, review, and improvement of procedures within the function
- Assist in mentoring, coaching, and supporting the development of junior team members
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and anti-money laundering legislation
- Promote and uphold the organisation’s core values and expected behaviours
- Contribute to fostering a positive and motivated team culture
- Undertake any other duties as required by management
Job Requirements:
- Experience using banking platforms and approving payments is essential
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong understanding of risk management in a payments environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coach and support junior colleagues effectively
