Our client is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director for their Tax department. This full-time role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with tax reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions. As a key player in the central services team, you will work closely with senior management to develop and implement tax policies, delivering exceptional support to clients and fostering a culture of openness and teamwork. Your expertise in tax compliance will ensure the organisation’s entities adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, facilitating smooth business operations.
Job Duties:
- Set goals for the tax function that align with the overall Group strategy, maintaining high-quality specialised support.
- Collaborate with Directors/Relations Partners across various jurisdictions to establish fees and billing responsibilities, ensuring the profitability of the Tax function.
- Provide practical expertise and develop recommendations for improvements within tax procedures.
- Oversee the preparation of annual tax returns and other tax reporting requirements in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, IOM, and BVI for companies and trusts, including VAT and ATED.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries with authorities, minimising financial and reputational risks.
- Lead and develop the tax team, providing guidance to foster high performance.
- Deliver tax training and support to staff, ensuring awareness of legislative changes.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide tax-related support for business operations and transactions.
- Develop and implement internal tax policies and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement aligned with best practices.
Job Requirements:
- Educated to degree standard or possess equivalent experience.
- Professional qualification such as a CTA is required.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, including leadership experience.
- Essential experience in UK company and trust tax compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to promote organisational culture and values.
- Deep knowledge of tax legislation and best practice standards that affect client servicing.
- Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of managing multiple workstreams while meeting tight deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing tax documents.
